C3 Philippines
The Philippines, formerly part of Southeast Asia, has become its own region since January 1, 2024. The Philippines is an archipelago consisting of over 7,000 islands. The country offers the best island beaches, white sand, and blue water, teeming with marine life, corals, and lush foliage. This, together with the legendary Filipino hospitality, tasty cuisine, and low prices, makes it a popular international tourist destination. It is the largest populous country in Southeast Asia, with around 100 culturally and linguistically distinct ethnic groups. Despite the numerous dialects in the Philippines, English is also an official language and widely spoken.
With increased urbanisation and education, the Philippines has a growing middle-class population. However, alongside extreme wealth is also the presence of severe poverty and the associated corrupt industries that thrive from exploiting the poor. It presents the opportunity for us to demonstrate the gospel through social justice and church planting. The Philippines is home to our first church plant in Southeast Asia, C3 Cebu, which was planted in 1992. Today, there are 35 C3 congregations across the Philippines, and despite many challenges in the past, C3 Cebu continues to be a thriving congregation.
Stop Press:
C3 Philippines gathered last November in Manila at the RCBC Plaza Theatre with over 300 delegates. Our C3 Filipino community loves hosting and getting together at conferences, showing outstanding hospitality, care, and inspiration.
During 2023, there were many youth outreaches, C3 Cares ministry, Police ministry, education initiatives for kids and parents in slum communities, food deliveries to disadvantaged families, and partnerships with organisations dealing with the exploitation of children.
